    Nvidia

Nvidia is one of the two big players when it comes to graphics cards for gaming. They are an American multinational company based in Santa Clara, California. Nvidia makes GPUs for gaming and professional use, as well as SOCs or chips for mobile computing. Their main product line is called GeForce.

    Nvidia GTX and RTX Series

The GTX and RTX series are two branches of Nvidia’s GeForce lineup. GPU names can get complicated, especially if you’re not up to date with new releases. Generally speaking, Nvidia makes two types of cards: RTX and GTX. Both of these are followed by four numbers, like GTX 1660 or RTX 3080 or RTX 3090

These also have other monikers at the end like “Ti” or “Super”. A graphics card with either of these monikers is faster than the version without them. For example, the RTX 2070 Super is faster than the standard RTX 3070.

GeForce GTX is Nvidia’s “standard series” if you want to call it that. The GTX 1660 Ti is a good example. RTX cards use new features like DLSS (a form of super sampling) and of course, ray tracing. Slowly but surely, as ray tracing becomes the standard, we can expect to see RTX cards dominate and become Nvidia’s main product line altogether.

Nvidia’s modern graphics cards also have the excellent NV encoder. This makes Nvidia GPUs great for rendering, editing, and recording gameplay footage. However, AMD is quickly catching up, and we don’t know how long this statement is going to hold true. Speaking of which, let’s have a look at AMD’s main rival.
